Electrician's Declaration (YDE)

Issuance of the Electrician's Responsible Declaration (YDE) by licensed electricians for new and existing installations, required to connect or upgrade an electricity supply.

The Electrician's Responsible Declaration (YDE) is the official document certifying that an electrical installation has been built in line with the Greek Internal Electrical Installations Regulation (ELOT HD 384 / ELOT 60364) and safety rules. We handle the whole process: inspecting the installation, carrying out measurements, drafting the declaration and submitting it electronically so the energisation or supply change can proceed without delay.

Highlights

  • •YDE for new supplies, modifications and energisations
  • •Electronic submission and application follow-up
  • •Earthing, insulation and residual-current protection measurements

Capabilities

  • •Compliance checks against ELOT HD 384 and ELOT 60364
  • •Earth resistance, insulation and fault-loop measurements
  • •Coordination with HEDNO and the electricity supplier

Typical sectors

  • •Homes and apartments
  • •Shops, offices and commercial premises
  • •Industrial, agricultural and construction-site supplies

What the YDE is and when it is required

A YDE is required for every new electrical installation, for increasing or reducing supply capacity, for relocating or replacing a meter, for temporary construction-site supplies, and for reconnection after a disconnection or alteration. Without it HEDNO will not energise the supply, and it also serves as proof that the installation is safe for its users.

How the YDE is issued

A licensed electrician visits the site, inspects the panel, cabling, protective devices and earthing, and performs the required measurements. If shortcomings are found we propose and carry out the corrections. We then draft the YDE and submit it electronically, keeping you informed at every step until the supply is energised.

Why choose us

We have worked on electrical and electromechanical projects since 1996. For us the YDE is not mere paperwork: we sign only installations we have inspected and measured, with full responsibility and documentation.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to issue a YDE?

For an installation that meets the requirements, the YDE is usually issued within days of the inspection. If corrections are needed, the time depends on their scope.

Is a YDE needed to increase supply capacity?

Yes. Any change of capacity, meter relocation or replacement requires a new YDE from a licensed electrician.

Can you issue a YDE for an existing installation without paperwork?

Yes, provided the installation is inspected and any deviations from the regulation are corrected where necessary.
